The Big Party
The sun has already set, but lively upbeat music can be heard echoing along the river, drifting on the evening breeze. A couple has just gotten married and the bride’s family is hosting a big party with a traditional dance! A violin and several hide-covered drums provide the swaying music against which the leader sings a rhythmic, humorous poem about life and love. The RM people enjoy listening to their traditional music, and join in as the dance progresses. Groups can be hired to lead a this traditional dance for a special occasion, and the dance can last an entire night as the community celebrates together.
- Pray that workers will grow in their understanding of local culture and be able to use it as a means to share the Good News in Teluk Kuantan region.
