The University of Riau

Library

The University Library is a two-story building. A smiling clerk checks in your bag at the entrance. The second floor is filled with shelves of books in neat short rows and a few tables for students who want to study on campus. Many of the books are decades old.

Students as young as 16 and 17 come here to study. They are eager for new opportunities and desire to soak up as much knowledge as they can. Often, they are the first in their family to be able to pursue higher education and they take such a responsibility seriously.

Be careful, for writing books is endless, and much study wears you out…Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone's duty.
Ecclesiastes 12:12-13 (NLT)

  • Pray that first-generation students at the University of Riau would be able to find good jobs and help their families and communities.
  • Pray that students here would learn not only practical skills, but also to fear God and obey his commands.
